Sara Cogan, Owner, Frances PDX
Hi there, I’m Sara, owner and operator of Frances PDX.
I was born and raised in Honolulu, but have called Portland, Oregon home since 2003. My first passion was food, and digging in the dirt. I spent a decade growing organic produce at Zenger Farm, an educational urban farm in the Foster-Powell neighborhood. In 2016, I made the leap from farming to building and remodeling houses, with the same attention to quality and sustainability. Food, and now Shelter. I guess you could say I’m into the basics.
Frances was my grandmother. She was strong and capable. Practical and efficient. Following her lead, I was inspired to build a company that celebrates these attributes.
At Frances PDX, we value well-built and built-to last. We are focused on the little things, and the big picture. We believe that effective communication and staying on schedule are just as important to the success of a project as building with high quality materials, and an attention to detail. We work hard to make the building experience a positive one for our clients.
In my spare time, I volunteer with Taking Ownership, managing projects for their clients. They are doing amazing work. Check them out!
